This gorgeous green house was built in response to two central design issues: the family as a social unit and the environment. According to the New Delhi-based architects, Morphogenesis, “Its uniqueness lies in its response to the huge paradigm shift that is happening in India and represents its socio-cultural implications in a lasting format.” We see this phenomenon of extended family co-habitation increasing as our culture becomes more aware of the economic and environmental benefits of living in a dense, communal setting. Fortunately, the House 2 project sets a fine example of how this can be done effectively and beautifully.
