Anthropologie has it!

All I can say is.. I want this to be my shop! Anthropologie has its own " trend" .. it might actually be called an anthropologic style!! I heard that somewhere in the blogging world but I cant recall who said it..

Design Like You Give A Damn!

I've always been fascinated with those who volenteer at Architecture for Humanity , which I've recently joined . Architecture for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that seeks architectural solutions to humanitarian crisis and brings design services to communities in need.
The organization believes that where resources and expertise are scarce, innovative, sustainable and collaborative design can make a difference.

By showing an active interest in Architecture for Humanity, you are part of a growing grassroots humanitarian design movement helping to change the perception of the role of the designer.
In most circles, architecture and design is seen as a service for the privileged.
Our profession is guilty of embracing this ideal.
Design should be a profession of inclusion whose talents help those who need them most. It is time for you to change the perception and design like you give a damn.

Make sure to visit their website and at least read about it, or blog about it! .. remember , for such a good cause , word of mouth is very powerful!

MakeYour Own Blackboards

ERASERS go from dull to delightful by gluing scraps of vintage fabric, wallpaper, and old ads to the backs of standard erasers for retro appeal. Cheerful children's blocks are reinvented as erasers simply by gluing a piece of felt to one side.

TRANSFORM any object with a flat, smooth surface into a blackboard. Here, the
Farm Chicks used a drawer, dustpan, and enamel bakeware, but you can make use of anything that strikes your fancy, such as an old mirror or a salvaged window.
APPLY two coats of paint using a small sponge applicator or roller, as the fibers in regular paintbrushes tend to leave behind streaks. Chalkboard paint comes in both liquid and spray versions. If you try the spray, be sure to cover the surrounding area carefully to prevent spatter.
